STATEMENT
Mi trabajo nace de la síntesis de los opuestos, del entrecruce entre entre pasado y presente para construir un referente visual que nos permita evidenciar los cambios culturales a los que nos vemos enfrentados como sociedad. Así un juego de azar infantil en papel, un oficio anónimo asociado al mundo femenino ya en retirada como el crochet, una planta medicinal precolombina o una trampa rural de antaño constituyen universos que me permiten crear referentes visuales nuevos que se instalan en el sistema del arte. Me interesa evidenciar el paso del tiempo mediante la creación de objetos en porcelana que vitrificados, me ayudan a reflexionar en torno a los oficios manuales en retirada en el mundo contemporáneo y me permite instalarlos en el sistema del arte como dispositivos que transforman lo silencioso y anónimo en obras de arte que adquieren visibilidad y circulación pública. En el fondo lo que hago es rescatar un elemento que está en el olvido, una pesquisa casi arqueológica en un elemento contemporáneo que mediante el arte cobra una nueva vida. Mi trabajo intenta subrayar esa necesidad de volver a ver para resignificar desde el presente lo que va quedando atrás.

My work deals with the synthesis of opposites, from the intersection between past and present to build a visual referent that allows us to show the cultural changes we face as a society. Thus a children's game on paper, an anonymous hand work associated with the feminine world such as the crochet, a pre-Columbian medicinal plant or a rural trap of constitute universes that allow me to create new visual references. I am interested in evidencing the passage of time through the creation of vitrified objects in porcelain that help me to reflect upon manual crafts in retreat in the contemporary world and allows me to install them in the art system as devices that transform the silent and anonymous works in to Works of art that acquire visibility and public circulation. Basically what I do is to rescue an element that is forgotten, an almost archaeological research and transform i tinto a contemporary element that through art takes on a new life. My work tries to emphasize that need to see again to resignify from the present what is left behind.
